About Us

CPIS is owned and managed by Dr. Grant Metz, Fairmont, MN 56031. Dr. Metz has worked in the US seed industry, with over 35 years of experience in maize and soybean germplasm and breeding. He earned his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in plant breeding and genetics from Iowa State University, and his B.S. in agronomy from North Dakota State University.

Following his graduate education, Dr. Metz worked as a breeder and station manager for Garst Seed Company, Central Golden Harvest Research, and Galena Genetics prior to undertaking the CPIS project.
